Tide Times NZ - Tide Tables is a handy application to find out when the best times to go surfing, fishing, or swimming are. The app has been developed to help you plan your next trip to the seaside.
The app is based on data from the New Zealand Coast and Coastline Survey, which is a joint project between the New Zealand Government, the Department of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and the New Zealand Coastal Council. The data is collected every four to five years, and the most recent data collection was 2015.
The data is collected at around 300 locations across New Zealand. The locations are mostly coastal, but there are some inland locations, too.
The data collected includes the location, the date, the time, the water temperature, the salinity, the amount of rainfall, the amount of snowfall, and the amount of sunshine.
The data is then compiled and presented in a number of different ways.
